This is JUST MY OPINION, but I think a lot of vets see this as a money maker. For example, "Well, the puppy is 9 months old and hasn't lost those baby teeth yet. Let's pull them out. It's going to cost you $200". Or, they'll want to pull them out during a spay/neuter and charge you extra.
True, and yes we should listen to them but I always thought it was better to wait. My vet told me the same thing you wrote above and I waited and about 2 months later they came out...
