i was gonna suggest putting something in the bowl too. this is what i do for my piggy cat. find something heavier and slightly bigger to almost fit the bowl witch just a few centimeters around it to get their nose in there.
Or you can try feeding on a baking sheet. spread the food out so they have to go after each piece and not gulp the food. Or you can get one of those treat dispensing toys and fill it with the food.
