We're going to get her early in the morning, and Emma will go to doggie daycare since we have to drive about 40 minutes out of town, and she's not the greatest in the car. We'll bring Milli home, and she has a vet appointment at 11:30-I wanted to get her checked out before introducing her to Emma, just in case she has any germs that we might not want them to share

Everyone I've talked to at work has said that we need to introduce them in a "neutral" place-but we're supposed to get a huge snowstorm this week, so I'm sure it will be cold and wet out still by Saturday. We are actually moving into a new house Friday, we were thinking that the house would still be neutral territory for Emma, and that she might just think the puppy's been there the whole time if she just shows up Saturday morning.

Emma loves other dogs, and plays with a 2 lb. chihuahua at daycare, who is a girl, and they're BEST FRIENDS while they are there-so I'm sure she'll be gentle enough with the new puppy. I'm wondering if she'll be upset when she realizes the puppy is staying to live with us, and not going home?

Anyone have any ideas on where/how to introduce them?

Anyone have any tips on what NOT to do?
Hey hun, congrats on your new puppy! I also think that your new home will be ok for the introduction.....seeing it is new to emma too. I had Louie for about 1 yr before I got Bella and we took him with us to the breeder to meet her....it was a real quick intro though and when we got home I put her in the playpen and just let him "examine" her through there....he was very excited and sniffed around and checked her all out.....then I put him in there with her and they seemed to do well together so I took them both out and they have had the run of the house since....they are the best of friends (sometimes they still fight over toys) but nothing serious. Im sure everything will be just fine.....your first one is still really young so I would not worry too much about it......Good Luck and again CONGRATS on the new baby!!!!!
