Chloe sleeps in the crate every night downstairs in the family room. If you're trying to transition from bed to crate, you have to do it all at once. Put them in the crate in another room, and don't go to them when they cry. If they've been used to the bed, then they will cry all night long for about 3 nights. If you go to them even once, expect it to never get better. They will learn that the crying gets them out. If you grin and bear it, no talking, no going to them, no letting them out just this once, it won't last long.

It is good for them to have their own space. Dogs are denning animals and the crate is a safe haven for them. So you don't need to feel guilty over it.

good luck
