Sorry you're having such a tough time of it, but I hear it is normal behavior. I'll tell you what I'm doing and it's only been two nights, but it's been two peaceful nights. I put him in his crate after he's gone potty at my bedtime. I keep the crate on my night stand so he can see me. Inside the crate on the bottom lining it is a towel, on top of that is a hot water bottle half filled with warm water, a soft blanket on top of that and a Snuggle Puppy with the battery operated heartbeat. The first night he whimmpered about 5 seconds when I first closed the crate door and said "timer to go night night". I turned off the lights got into bed and turned my back to him and that was it until 2.5 hours later I heard a whimmper and nothing else. I peaked in to see if he wanted out to potty, but he was just readjusting himself. Second night same routine, and slept through the night without one compalint. I guess it's pretty cozy in there and he can see me next to him all the time. I pray this routine stays the norm.
