Is this normal for a 10 week old? I felt so bad hearing him cry throughout the night and trying to leap up on the bed. |
I brought home my 10 week old little Mango on Monday. After doing thorough research, I learned that the best method is crate training. Mango has slept in her crate next to my bed, door closed since the first night home. I make it very cosy in there and provide a pig's ear to chew/comfort her. (DO NOT use rawhide chews!) I bought the smallest crate I could find, placed a rolled up towel at the back to take up excess room, put a comfy small folded blanket on the floor. When I find my links on crate training I will post them. It definitely is highly recommended.
Your baby might cry at first, but you have to ignore it. Do not pick him up. He will eventually settle down. The crate actual provides a secure, comfy environment for them. During the day I leave the crate with the door open and Mango will actually climb in there of her own accord and just go to sleep. Try it.... it WILL work.
