I've ALWAYS done the "wait and see" with my dog's double canines. They've always fallen out on their own...Gracie's last canine took the longest and she was 13 months old when it came out. All of my dogs have had perfect scissor bites. Yeah, the smell can be a little rank but they've always came out on their own over here.
This is JUST MY OPINION, but I think a lot of vets see this as a money maker. For example, "Well, the puppy is 9 months old and hasn't lost those baby teeth yet. Let's pull them out. It's going to cost you $200". Or, they'll want to pull them out during a spay/neuter and charge you extra. |
