Stephanie, I would think that if the vet put Dega on High Calorie food, then perhaps you should ask the vet when Dega can get off of it. Normally after 4 to 6 months, they should be over the hump as far as low blood sugar. If he stays on this diet much longer, he may start to get quite chubby, and that would almost be as bad as hypoglycemia.
