That is very true. I've seen many studies lately - the most recent in Reader's Digest - about how children who are
not raised around animals have a substantially higher risk of developing allergies. It used to be people thought it was the other way around. I know genetics plays into it too, but I've seen examples of this in a lot of kids I know. Kids develop and immunity to allergens when exposed to them.
