Her temp dropped yesterday. Last night I thought she was going into the early stages of labor, turned out I was right. I put her in her whelping box which she really likes, but I cut a "doggie door" in it so she could get in and out because everytime someone would come to the door she'd whine to get out so she could see what was going on.....which now I know I should've cut it out after she had her babies so she'd stay in there. She likes to start out sleeping in her bed, but in the middle of the night she gets up and gets into one of my kids' bed....well she ended up having the first 2 beside my sons bed. The ones that I helped her with though came 1 hour apart so I'm assuming the other ones did too. Good luck with your first litter! The only advice I can give you is to make sure she stays in her whelping box after her temp drops so you have better knowlege of when and where the puppies come out. Which duh! I knew that but I just wasn't thinking. Hind sight is always 20/20. Like I said before, no matter how prepared you think you are...theirs nothing like experiencing it you self with your own. Every litter, mother, whelping is different. The whelping I witnessed seemed to go as smooth as silk, but it wasn't the breeders first whelping, and the momma only had 2 puppies.
