...thank you for posting the pic to compare the two....I can see Daisy is light. This mom is also light...but her back saddle has about twice the gold in it, that Daisy does. I can see some black...but it's dominated by the gold. She's hasn't turned white...or silver...it's light gold.

Is she a reputable breeder?...she is a hobby breeder...just has a male & a female, AKC registered...her family pets. Did you check her out first? so far, i've only spoken to her on the phone & requested some pics. I'm quite a long drive from her. I wanted to take a look-see at the pics, to see if I even want to drive that far first. When I saw the dominent gold in the mom's saddle area, I hesitated, wondering if it was a coat that had "ran gold"...a fault....but then I remembered I'd read that yorkies lighten with age & with breeding at times...and I was confused about whether it was supposed to be this light/this much! Just trying to educate myself on the difference between running gold & lightening with age & how much lightening is indeed acceptable. I haven't even asked her yet, if the mom "ran gold" ...or she lightened later...I will, but I wanted to gain some knowledge here first. Maybe you could talk to some of the others that bought puppies from her. If she is using the same pair to produce puppies this will give you an idea on what the colors would be.well I know she's using the same pair, & I guess that would be a good indicater of color, but I have not asked for any contact info on previous litters & don't know if that will be possible. If it makes any difference...all the puppies are definately black/gold & look normal...they are 6 wks now. |
