I'm not sure, but a couple things come to mind. Smelly behinds can mean they need their anal glands expressed. Groomers often do it, but you can do it yourself. Then again, that usually does smell like poop, bad poop, so you might have a different problem that you might want to show the vet.

As for switching food, we had great luck switching to nutro natural choice. If you do find yourself switching foods, do so gradually. Start with 95 percent of the old food, 5 percent of the new, then add 5 more percent of the new food each day and subtract from the old.

Not sure about the rash.
