Was she having a weight problem in the first place...or is that a preventative thing?
Personally I swear by Iams. I would never feed a dog anything else...and I have never had a weight problem from it. I don't have any knowledge about Walmart brand dog food. But I do buy my Iams at walmart for $7.99 a bag (I think that is very reasonable). I imagine you pay a ton more than that for what you buy at the vet.
If you want to try the Walmart brand food...just compare the ingredients to a name brand that you trust and see how different they are.
