hmmm.... you have me stumped.. because usually they will try and nothing will come out...whcih is constipation... i don't know that i'd add pumpkin because you said he isn't having diffiuculty.. that just might add a problem... does he scoot his bum?? that is usually the first sign of anal gland issues... if i were you i'd keep an eye on it for a few days.. if it doens't go away.. i'd call the vet and see what they think.
