We won't spay a puppy or kitten before 6 months. Blood work is always a good idea, tho we really stress it when an animal is older and has to be anesthasized cause there are so many more things that can go wrong as we get older. And we would rather they go thru with whatever surgery they need than say "forget it I can't afford the bloodwork and the surgery". It's all about persoanl choices I guess, tho we always advise lab work beforehand.
