Faux Fur? - not so much!! Just saw a chilling report on Good Morning America about "faux fur". According to their report which was supported by undercovery Humane Society folks, the majority of faux fur out there is really Raccoon Dog - a dog that looks like a raccoon. They are raised in China in horrible conditions and literally skinned alive.
The report says that most labels either don't identify the fur at all, or list raccoon rather than raccoon dog. This was on MAJOR labels and desginer labels being sold at high-end and middle department stores. Scarry and totally disgusting, especially when you think you are being ethical!
