I would definitely agree if little Luna is displaying any behaviors other than spinning, it could be something other than excitement. Like you said, you'll be talking to your vet about spaying, so you can definitely ask about it then.
I'm grateful Muffin's spinning ways are nothing than her being the weird little puppy that she is!

P.S. Muffin seems to be doing good Tracy! She tires a bit more easily, but she is excited to play & run around like her crazy old self.
