I'm in! Yes, a friend who I had not seen in a while decided to surprise me for my 50th birthday. While on a convention with her husband, she handed out cards to 20 or so people and asked them to write whatever they wanted on the card and send it to me from their hometowns. She had preaddressed them, so all the handwriting on the envelopes was hers.
I was totally confused. I was getting cards from all over the country, and some of them were hilarious, talking about the "love child" I'd left behind and the wild parties I'd been to. Many of them were signed by 4 and 5 people who claimed I was their best friend or long-lost father. At one point, I started to think somebody was stalking me.
She broke it to me during a visit for my 50th birthday party by handing me a card with the same handwriting. Naturally, I was too dense to figure it out right away, but we laughed about it.
I'll PM you!
