Welcome to YorkieTalk! Isn't it just amazing how attached we become to these little guys! I've had lots of dogs, but I never was as attached to them as I am to Higgins, our little one year old! (He was one on 12/28 and I don't know where that time went......)
Be sure to buy her LOTS of toys! I mean, really LOTS of toys to keep her little teeth busy so she won't chew you or your stuff. You can make toys, too.....tie an old soft cotton sock in a big knot to play tugsock with her. Put a tiny treat in an open plastic water bottle and watch her try to get it out....you can even put a little peanut butter inside the opening.......
When she play-bites your fingers, firmly tell her "no biting, just kisses" and lift her up to your face and cuddle/kiss her, or give her a toy. Be very consistent, and she'll get it. Same with the potty training. Be consistent. Potty training will usually take many months, so just accept it and keep on trying.
Can't wait to hear what you name her....... |
