BEST Chocolate Cake EVER!
In a large bowl mix 2 cups sugar and 2 cups flour. In a saucepan mix 2 sticks of butter, 1 cup of water, and 5 tablespoons of cocoa. Heat the cocoa mix till all blended. Pour over dry ingredients. Add 1/2 cup buttermilk, 1 tsp. baking soda, 2 eggs, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1 tsp. vanilla. Mix. The batter will be wet and not stiff. Pur into greased and floured sheet pan and bake at 350 for 25-30 min (till toothpick inserted into middle of the cake comes out clean)
Frosting
In a saucepan mix 1 stick butter, 5 Tablespoons of cocoa, and 6 Tablespoons of milk. Heat adn stir until blended. Add 1 package of powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla, and 1/2 cups of nuts (nuts optional). Blend together and pour over hot cake.
I poke holes in the cake with a toothpick so that some of the frosting runs down into the cake. Mmmmmmmm good!!!
