On the airlines websites when I was doing the research. One of the requirements it mentioned was a rabies shot. The little Yorkie babies aren't expected to have a rabie shot are they at 10 - 12 weeks old???????? Maybe I'm not reading it correctly.

I'm personally afraid of giving the rabies shot to these little Yorkies, especially if they are strictly in the house pets.

Mine have not rec'd a Lepto nor rabies. The breeder I bought my Yorkie pups from did not recommend these two vaccinations, as she has lost too many pups and adult yorkies to the vaccines from reactions.

Talked to my vet about it and she said it would be strictly up to the owner. If your YOrkie was not prone to drink out of mud puddles or ponds....Lepto would not be necessary.

I'm so over protective of my dogs its unbelievable. Sure don't want to knowingly introduce anything into their bodies that might hurt them.

I've read and read humans as well as animals are over vaccinated. Thats why the immune systems are destroyed.

An article from Texas A&M University, who has a veternarian school - stated in a recent newsletter than after the initial puppy shot series -- no further vaccination of your dogs are necessary. Unless your doing the rabies shot (every 2 - 3 years). That in fact, all your doing giving boosters is destroying the immune system and lining the pockets of your vet with more money. I don't know....you read and hear everything.

Ask my own personal vet about it, she says every 3 years for boosters after initial puppy shots. Depending on the exposure your dog gets to outside elements...i.e. other dogs, etc.

I don't know whats right. I'd just like my babies to live as long as we do and not just the 15 - 18 yrs.

My African Grey Parrot will possibly live 60 - 80 years. Why can't our dogs??????
