For Judy Hi Judy,
I sent a response to your message.
I hope this helps you.
It has been a long time since I was on here, due to moving and settling in.
My dog is perfectly trained since we moved. Couldn't have asked for a better dog.
PATIENCE....<<< gotta have it.
Hope you get the message it was a long one.
P.S. I never got my yorkie fixed. Don't plan on it. But, it is good to do, it if you dont' want them to mate. I am not sure on that one yet.
In case you don't get the long message I sent you....my best advice is to keep to a certain time you take your dog out.
They are like kids, they want an excuse to go outside.
If you keep to certain times taking him out, his body will get used to that....and he won't want to pee in the house, because in his mind, it is his excuse for going out.
Because he is still young, you will have to just keep taking him out.
The other thing is, I found my dog to want to mark spots, like new blankets, cushions, mats, etc. So, I watch him for a few seconds and tell him to leave the area. He is doing good.
It will be hard to get rid of the smell, I never could. But, I did not try all the products on the market for smell removers either. I understand some may work. I used dish soap. But, also, covered the area's with thick clear plastic.
I also had used a child gate... to keep him in certain areas, like the kitchen. Never used a crate.
I know it is a pain, to keep taking the dog outside, but it will work for you. And he will want to control peeing elsewhere ,to just go outside.
The best of luck to you Judy.
Sincerely,
Catherine |
