I live in a suburb of Chicago and this past summer there was a coyote in a neighborhood not too far from me that got hold of a Maltese that was in his fenced-in yard. The coyote killed the poor Maltese. My heart just sank to my stomach because the poor dog wouldn't stand a chance with a coyote.

I know how hard it is sometimes to be outside with our babies while they are doing their business but we can't take our eyes off of them for a second anymore. There are too many threats to these little dogs. We have to worry about the wild life AND people snatching them right out from under us. Thankfully all three of mine are puppy pad trained so they only go out when I can go out with them.

I pray that your friends dog is okay and that some good soul took him in and that he's safe.
