This is just a suggestion but, why not use a "skin baby" playpen? This is what I used when I got Sadie and I use it now with Lillie. Lillie is just 7 1/2 months old and I don't want her to have run of the house. I put her little bed and a stuffed toy in there when I leave. I used to put a pee pad but she won't use it in the play pen...maybe because she sleeps in it when I am gone..
AND!! their are cheaper then the pet play pens...
