I know looking at it is really scary, but it's okay. I've had tails licked open before. The vet said as soon as mom licks them open, it's waiting for the infection. Your vet probably gave you betadine. If not you can get some and dilute it. Paint and it 6 times a day, with a cotton ball or Q-tip (you can even squeeze some over it) it's an antibacterial. The hard part for me was keeping mom from accidently hitting the healing area when she was pooping them. When it's open they automatically want to lick it, but it needs to heal. So I would put them to nurse and I would poop them. |
