it could be his anal sack... they fill up if they aren't emptied every day (when they poop) and since you said his poop was soft... that could be the problem... has his poop been soft for a few days??? it takes a hard firm poop to empty the glads..w hen they are not emptied.. each day they get fuller and the liquid inside gets thicker.. thus making it harder to push out... i'd get him to an emergency vet ASAP to get them emptied before they burst.. then you have a serious problem on your hands!! good luck.. let me know how it goes.
