I showed my application to another Humane Soc employee at a different location (downtown) and she said it was an ideal application. She offered to find me a puppy on the spot and even showed me some dogs that were not available for public view yet. Unfortunately, none of them were small which is what I wanted as a companion for my yorkie.

I already mentioned this on another thread so sorry to repeat, but I am still bummed about it and it was 3 years ago. I will probably never apply to adopt another rescue dog again after that.

Same with me, I would probably never apply again through a rescue either. I would think that any person with a heart big enough and was willing to pay for a usually sick older pup should not be turned away for assinine reasons such as they have to work. I am an animal lover. I cry when I read some stories on here. Such as the woman who left the dog outside overnight and then threw him over the fence bc she thought he was dead. In my head I picture one of my boys and the look in their eyes if they were ever hurt or betrayed like that and it literally brings me to tears! I would make a wonderful home and mommy to a rescue ... but alas... no go! bc I work

so I can afford to make a wonderful home!
