Sounds like you've read up quite a bit. Good for you. There's tons of good information here. I'd agree that harnesses are the way to go. Yorkies have tender necks. I don't like rawhides because my guys swallow them, but I know some people who monitor their Yorkies closely and make sure they don't swallow them. Kongs, bullysticks and Nylabones are good, tough toys, but Yorkies love soft squeaky toys too. Just make sure they don't chew them up and swallow them.

For healthy treats, some people give their Yorkies Cheerios and carrots and apples. But as long as you don't overdo it, they love anything with beef or liver or chicken in it.
