Only you can decide that. However, you need to do what's best for you, believe it or not, you can work all that other stuff out. Mine was abdominal, and after a week in the hospital, and another 5 days on the couch (they told me to plan on 6 weeks) I was up and about pretty well. I ran my own business, and by week 3 was back at work about 6 hours a day against Dr's wishes, but you do what you have to do. (of course, I waited another week to get back into 10-12 hour days) I couldn't lug anything heavy (including small children), vacuum, or mow the yard

but I certainly was not bedridden. How old are your children???
