Keep in mind that my girls are now 12 and 10 years old BUT I have to say I hated potty training more than anything I had to deal with. My first was 2 years and a month old when my second was born. You should have seen me and my big pregnant self sitting on the bathroom floor reading book after book after book while that kid just sat on the toilet! Her pediatrician finally told me to just wait until after the baby was born because more than likely, if she did get trained, she would probably regress after the birth. So, we forgot all about it. Then when she turned three, her dayschool teacher just out of the blue one evening told me to send her in panties the next day and to pack several changes of clothes. I was skeptical. Sure enough, that day she went through every one of those sets of clothes but the next day when she told me she didn't want to wear panties, I didn't give in. I don't remember her having a single accident after that day. I think she was more than ready (as did her teacher), she just didn't want to try. Turns out she didn't like being wet. Which is funny now because she's true tomboy who loves being dirty and wet!

I'm a firm believer in "changing the scenery" when doing something new. That's also how we got her to give up the bottle..... she went to my mom's for the weekend and no bottles were sent. They weren't there for her to beg for at bedtime so she didn't even bother. She came home completely bottle-broke! Are you a stay-at-home mom? If so, that could part of it. I don't know anything about being a stay-at-home but I'm sure the tactics are a bit different. Just having my daughter's teacher do the deed worked for us. Hope you find something that works soon. I'll tell you what everyone told me that always ticked me off but now I understand..... Chances of your kid going to kindergarten in a diaper are super slim! She'll get the hang of it soon. Sorry, I know I hated to hear that but it's true. It's just hard to be patient with it.

Oh, one thing I do feel strongly about is this "timeline" that other people think kids need to reach milestones by. Back when we were babies, those disposable diapers were fairly new and were nowhere near as absorbent as they are now. The babies back then could feel the wetness and didn't like it. I personally think that's why "back then" babies potty trained so early. The way they make disposable diapers now, why should the kid not want to wear them?? Think about it that way. I never used panties and those plastic panty covers but maybe that's worth a try. It surely couldn't feel as good as a nice absorbent diaper. Good luck!
