what I do is GENTLY hold my fingers on their nostrils and lean their little heads down towards the chest - it gets them to take a breath thru the mouth - which will stop the snorting - it works really well.....I tried massaging the neck but that never stopped it - but tapping on the nostrils works great - you do it just enough to make them inhale |
My little Trea does the snorting when she is very happy too. I made an appointment to get her checked, because being a "new" yorkie owner it truly makes me scared when she does this. I had to log on Yorkie Talk this morning to see if anyone else has experienced the same thing, and low and behold yes there are others out their.
I feel better by reading other peoples experiences on this, so now I know why Trea is making these noises. I will still take her to the Vet tho.
