I agree with your husband. the ears look much better standing up. Definetly keep them shaved while he is young till they stand up. I do tape the ears if they are not standing by 16 weeks. I tape for 2 days then give them a 1 day rest. If they fall I do it again, same process. I have not had any problems with irritation. Most puppies do not need it but some do. Oh and they will have a tendency to droop during the teething period, this is not uncommon. Hope this helps.
