Its a wire gate, made of the same material as the crates. It usually is in the shape of an octagon. Its large enough so they can move around, eat and pee. I put his bed in there too...like a play pen for dogs.

They are pretty pricey in the pet stores but I managed to get one for a decent price...31.99 for the 24" size.
