I have had a few Yorkies through the years. Most of them have not been perfect at potty training. Even most people in my Yorkie meetup group have accidents and do not trust them 100%. I limit the area in the kitchen and family room and have the most success. My 3 year old Yorkie can not wait longer than 4 hours without going. As a nurse, it is not healthy to hold it a long time for any living thing.

Get an X-pen and set it up with a pee pad and food water and toys. They also need to be able to move and exercise when you are at work all day. Get the tallest x-pen or get a roof for it. I would not let your puppy be in a crate all day. Yorkies are not easy and do take training and lots of patience. Just the other day I came home from a long day and work. My two pups had crap all over the x-pen and themselves. It took an hour and half for me to clean, brush them and eveything. Ughh! It does not happen too often but it is work sometimes. Good luck to you!
