I try this with little ones. Wait until evening when they're just about ready for nighty night. Just start trying to get him to lay on his back or side and go over him like you're brushing with your hand. Then start to use the brush. Also it's a good time to handle his feet and toes to get used to grooming there. Even if you just get one light pass of the brush the first night it's worth it. Good Luck.
