Default feeding

At five weeks, they are not old enough to go all night without food. Mom is uncomfortable as the teats swell with milk she will want to nurse them. I have to separate my moms from the litter while weaning. They are in a pen and she can see them, I put a shirt on her and she can play with them, but no nursing. It is not a fun process for anyoen, but after a week everyone is happy again...although the pups will try and nurse for weeks even months. Mom will growl or move away, but even 12/14 week olds will try to get to the milk bar, it has long dried up, but they remember the "good old days"....good luck
When they have teeth, you can leave dry out...they should have teeth popping through and they can chew with tiny ones..make sure the kibble is tiny in size..or soak it slightly, it doesn't spoil.
