You sound like a wonderful person. Your dog is going to be very lucky to go to such a good home. The most important thing, besides providing its basic needs, is just to love your dog. Take it on frequent walks, feed it a good dog food, and don't leave it alone for long periods of time. Also, don't spoil it. Let the dog know you are the leader. Oh yes, socialize it with other dogs.
