When I got Mazie, she had spent the first nine months of her life with a family who were rarely home. They left her penned up in about four square feet, and half that was her kennel.
So when I got her, she quickly became almost psychotically attached to me, couldn't bear to let me out of her sight, etc. When I had to leave her, or pen her, she made the horriblest sounds.
But gradually she has come to learn that when I leave, I WILL come back...and when she is penned, she WILL get out again....and she doesn't even whine now.
