Bobo just had surgery for an external liver shunt 18 dats ago. He has improved so much since having his food changed to Science Diet LD(a special food for dogs with liver problems) and he is also on 2 meds.Go ahead with the bile acid test, we were lucky enough they were able to find his shunt with an ultrasound with doppler. Yes there is hope after LS diagnosis. PM me if you want to.
