Our little furbaby had a reaction to her shot, especially the kennel cough shot. She threw up and was very very tired. She sneezed a lot the next day. After she threw up, we took her back to the vet and they gave her benedry and a hydrating shot in the shoulder. When she got home she went nuts! She kept trying to scratch her back, whimpered and rolled around in her little crate. It was pitiful. My husband said, he thought it was the water shot in her shoulder blade that was irritating her, so I took her out of her crate and gently massaged the hump where the water shot was. She finally calmed down, got sleepy and went to sleep.

My guess is that your puppy's leg hurts from the shot and that's why it won't walk on it. You might try gently massaging the area.

When I talked to my breeder about our puppy's reaction a few days later, she said that after the puppies first shot, she gently massaged the shot area which calmed the irritation down.
