At night, she sleeps on a down blanket next to my bed, prince sleeps by my feet and the pups are in the whelping box. I've tried so many times to put her in there with them but she wont stay. She hops right out.

If that's the case then, I would for sure give the puppies full bellies. This way Mama and babies get a good nights sleep. Hopefully they won't get hungry in the middle of the night and she won't have to go feed them.
