I took Cocoa to a doggie day care / pet hotel in Atlanta once while I was on a business trip. The day care was part of a pet supply store, but the atmosphere inside the doggie day care is much more quiet and serene. (Except from the play room, of course.) The place looks very nice and clean - and is fully air-conditioned and air-filtered. The play area is large and surrounded by glass wall, so people can look at their dogs playing from outside. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They even give us a little tour of their facility. I was at first a bit nervous for leaving my 3lbs yorkie with the place where dogs of all sizes - but the staffs assured me that they separate big and small dogs play time. In addition, one or two staff members would always be in the play room to supervise.

I especially like the fact that they have a "Play All Day" option so that your dog wouldn't be left in his "room" for the whole day. Unfortunately Cocoa wasn't neutered yet, so he couldn't do that. Full-service Grooming is also availble on location. Another option that I really like but didn't have time to explore was "Day Training" (or something like that) where trainers will train your dog for a period of time while he was there. I guess I like any options that would make his time at the day care passes by quickly and enjoyably (hopefully)...
