-Like the previous post pointed out, the trick is to not even 'notice' them as soon as you walk in the door. I know it's very hard, but just pretend you don't see him/her for a bit.
-Go about your business and don't even LOOK in his/her direction for a few minutes until the dog calms down and realizes that they are not TOP PRIORITY as soon as you set foot through the door.
-If you are going to have guests over, let them know ahead of time not to pay any attention to the pup until you tell them it's okay. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT if you want to break this habit. The pup has to learn not to sprinkle when ANYONE comes over, not just you.
-After the pup's initial "Mom's home! I can't control myself" reaction wears off, then casually reach down and pet him/her for a second and say "good calm" or whatever key words you want to use. But don't go overboard with the loving until you know for sure that he/she won't get excited and piddle again.
-A few weeks of repeating this each day will wean the pup from piddling every time he/she gets excited or scared when someone comes over. |

I see this is you first post. I wanted to welcome you to YT and thank you for the good advise. Gucci used to tinckle when she was in heat. Im glad to say that she has stop. I also try not to ger her too excited when I come home, so that might be a reason why she hasnt have any more piddle accidents.
