Mommy is still groggy....and i didn't get the pups on to nursing until I got back home..another 15 miles holding the puppies next to my belly while driving a car that has the driver's side window broken!!!!!!!! I had the heater on high.

All is fine now...except Mommy is still shivering! I have her in the whelping box and keep putting warm blankets over her she also has the heat pad under her. I fed her out of my hand..warm rice and milk.and gave her nutri-stat first. She is trying to lick them to make them poop....well..once. She is just so sleepy or tired or BOTH.

I'm a nervous wreck!!!!!!!
Congratulations! Do you have any NutriDrops....if so, give her some and rub some on each puppy's gums....works alot faster than Nutri Stat.

Here's a a couple receipes for mom:

Mix 1 Can of Goat's Milk with equal parts of water add 1 egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of Karo Syrup. (Quick recipe to give to Mom right after whelping)

Whelping Pudding (I give this to mom throughout the time she's nursing & to puppies when I'm weaning)

16 oz water heated in micro - add
1 pkg of unflavored knox geletin and disolve.
add 1 15 oz can of evaporated milk
2 tablespoons of Karo Syrup
2 Egg yolks
2 tablespoons of Vanilla Yogurt, mix all together, refridgerate until firm. I spoon out a couple of tablespoons for mom.

Once again Congratulations and good luck, your work has just begun.
