Talking Obedience Brag!

We had our obedience training today. We've been working for about 5 weeks now trying to teach Pixie to "lay down".... She has been adamantly refusing to do so.

Today, I worked her before class with the instructor (who has also made several unsuccessful attempts). Once again, the instructor was like, "Can I try?" Well, she's tried a few times, but I'm getting desperate So of course.. try... please help! LOL

Pixie ACTUALLY laid down! TWICE for the instructor! One big thing we tried differently was putting down a pillow for her to lay on - I think that may be one reason she wouldn't do it before. And then she laid down a couple times for me this afternoon on the bed. We've been training on tile floors - I really think this has been an answer. I'm so proud of her, and we'll work it again tomorrow and soon maybe get where I don't have to squirrel her into the position but she'll lay when I give the command.

ALSO... the other day, my husband and I were doing some work (Ok, so we were taking down Christmas decorations and putting them out back in the storage building). I heard him telling Pixie, "Stay! No! Sit! Go away! Leave it!"

Later he comes and informs me that he doesn't know if there's a command to make her stay inside or not, but he tried everything he knew. I was like actually, there is. So I got Pixie and had her follow me around the living room, then I started to go into the bedroom where hubby was and told her "Wait."
Then I got in bed while she stood at the door and watched. I told her "Good girl, come on."... so she came running to the bed and curled up beside me.

Hubby was like WOAH! She knows how to WAIT? WOW!
*giggles* He seems impressed that she's learned something at "school" - but isn't that what school's for? **giggles some more**
