The AKC breed standard for Shih Tzu is 9 to 16 pounds. I didnt buy Mikki as an imperial. I bought her because I wanted one on the smaller end of the standard. She is not that much smaller then 9 pounds!! She is just a year old so could still gain a bit. She is healthy and one of the sweetest dogs I have ever owned.
