the texture of the hair, is it wirey or really really soft and thick? she may not have a silky coat after all. My pup has a soft thick cotton coat. It doesn't like down flat. i can give her a faux hawk when her hair is a couple inches long.

There are a couple different products you can try. Lots of people on here use Missing Link. Its a powder supplement you sprinkle over their food once or twice a day. It can be purchased at petco or petsmart. I had purchased it for morgan a couple months ago but didn't really see a difference in her coat with it. Then i bought Dermcaps Liquid formula. Didn't really see a difference with that either. Now i have her on Solid Gold Seameal and i see a bit of a difference in her coat. I also feed her premium quality food like merricks, wellness, and innova. These foods are better for their overall health then something you can purchase at the supermarket. You can try a few of these things to see if they help.

oh also i started using biogroom shampoo and conditioner recently and i see a difference in her coat with those products as well. It doesn't make her hair grow but it makes it feel softer and it helps lay the hair down flater. There is another product i recently purchased called Seabreeze oil by Plush puppy that i've heard good reviews about. I used it twice on morgan but i used too much and made her look like a greasy slim ball so i quickly washed it out. red98vett uses it on her cotton girl and says it works great. hope some of this helps
