We did this in our Thunderbird club a few years ago. A guy way up north bought an extra hard top from another guy in Florida so some of us drove the top on our car and handed it off to the next member until it got home. We also sent along a disposable camera so we could take everyone's picture with their car and the top when we handed off and we made a big card, so to speak, out of a piece of sign board...everyone signed it when they made the switch. It was a blast but my TBird was yellow and the new hard top was red so I looked kind of funny going down the road...but we had fun! So, if any of you saw a few mis-matched Thunderbirds on the highway a couple years ago...that's what was going on! |
