When my Molly Muffins had it,
the first question our vet asked was "do you have a bird feeder?"
Which we did and promptly relocated to an area in the yard Molly had no access to.
She would mill around the base of it, and the bird feces penetrated her pads to cause the illness.
She got over it quite easily.
