If he's still able to get at his stitches then there is no point in bothering with the cone. Has the incision started to look red at all? Watch for redness and signs of infection - also watch that none of the stitches have pulled out. I think using a onesie or making up a little cotton diaper type thing would be just fine - Oscar and Ruthie healed up really well and i used a 'diaper' on both of them. Your boy will heal just fine - and better to be covered up then have him chew out his stitches or get an infection.
Sometimes we have to use our own discretion - and the advice of others. If something the vet suggests is not working, then we have to find alternatives. That's where YT comes in. Do what you think will work.
Glad to hear your baby came through ok! |
Thanks for the suggestion. As i was looking at his bottom he does have some redness around the stitches, i dunno if it was from the surgery. I am going to the vet to get a bigger cone. This weekend i will go get the onesie for my little one. How do you put it on so that he can't get thru the stitches yet he can pee and poop without using a diaper?
